ABOUT
Welcome to my blog. It acts as a record of my efforts at writing. There are tools in life that keeps you focused on certain things. By refocusing OWASM to an author’s blog, it is intended to serve as a tool to keep me focused and commenting on my personal journey in a new (for me) world.
Since OWASM has changed his focus, I have decoupled any meaning behind it. I have dabbled at writing for some time: poetry, a novel, lots of business writing, lots of novel intros and ideas. I decided I would put a bit more elbow grease to my writing and get it nice and shiny for a foray into the pay for penmanship model.
My writing is not incredibly deep. I like interesting characters and a strong story arc to move them along. Since I started this in the winter of 2009, I don’t have a specific genre. I write fantasy and science fiction, although I see my writing gravitate to more adventurous settings, so I have a thriller novel percolating back in my mind.
OWASM (Old White Anglo Saxon Male is the original meaning of the name) was originally a continuation of a political blog, The Mantic Pundit. I burnt out a bit on that during the 2008 presidential election.
ME:
My name is Ken Cassell. I live in Salt Lake City, UT. I was born in 1947… that makes me old. I’ve got four kids, three married. I have some lovely grandkids, boys and girls.
I’ve long thought that writing would have been the career for me. I like dealing with ideas, although my expression tools have historically been a little blunt, they are now at this stage in my life, rusty-blunt.
So I’ve decided to pursue writing as a paying hobby rather than writing as a haphazard, on-again, off-again hobby. I am going to document my progress. Hopefully it will be of some use to other authors. It will certainly be of use to me.
